SENIOR ARCHITECT | PROJECT MANAGER
Sophie graduated in architecture in 1998 from the Université de la Villette in Paris. When she arrived in Quebec, she collaborated with several interior and commercial designers, architects and landscape architects. She started at Blouin Tardif Architects in 2010, obtained her diploma equivalence and became a member of the OAQ in 2013. Over the years, she has developed an excellent ability to coordinate projects and is particularly comfortable with site follow-ups, where she enjoys interacting with the various stakeholders.
“The most significant project I worked on was the follow-up of the construction for the administrative offices and the training center of the Plumbers, Welders and Pipefitters Association of Quebec, i.e. Local 144. This large-scale project with a varied program brought many challenges, including the achievement of a LEED V4 Platinum certification, which required assiduous follow-up on the construction site in order to respect the specifications of the plans and specifications. The structures and mechanics that had to remain visible required precise coordination with the various subcontractors in ventilation, plumbing and electricity. A method of implementation had to be planned to avoid damaging structural elements that are normally hidden in the walls. Also, again with the LEED goal in mind, I was able to participate in the selection of finishes, furniture and the development of the cabinetry, some of which was even designed from the structural wood of the building.”
